Ashneer Grover rose to prominence as an investor on Shark Tank India, where he was renowned for his straightforward and unpretentious approach. His direct attitude garnered him many admirers, but he was also criticized for his frankness and “doglapan” speech. Still, his character frequently makes for engaging, raw storytelling. Ashneer described a Salman Khan-related incident on a podcast. He met the Bollywood actor to give him the rundown on a sponsored photo shoot for an advertisement, and they talked about the assignment for hours. But Ashneer was told by Salman’s management that Salman would not allow Ashneer to take a picture with him.

With same candor, Ashneer responded to the “no-photo” by saying, “I won’t take a picture, you go to hell.” Ashneer recounted the event, saying, “Salman Khan se mila hoon. Toh uske shot ke liye mila tha, uske sponsor rakha tha. After all, it’s just a matter of time until the company’s fate is determined. Uske manager ne bol diya ki picture nahi khichwani hai, toh teen ghante baitha tha uske saath, sir thoda bura maan jaate hain. Maine bola, nahi khichwaunga picture, bhaad main ja tu, Maine kaha saale. I first met Salman when I briefed him for a sponsored ad shoot. Matlab aisi kaunsi heropanti ho gayi. After three hours of conversation with him, his manager informed me that Salman willnot take a photo with me. I told him I won’t take a picture, you go to hell).”

Salman Khan is praised by Ashneer
Ashneer Grover also complimented Salman’s intelligence and business sense in addition to this. In addition to praising Salman, he described him as a highly brilliant person who not only understands business but also clearly understands branding. “Banda bohot smart hai,” he remarked. If you look closely at Matlab’s logo, you may see that it’s not very smart. While business is important, branding is equally important. Usko’s image is clear, don’t you think? He’s quite intelligent. Although some people disagree, he is actually quite intelligent. He is aware of branding and business. He is aware of his image.

“Jab hum ad bana rahe the toh usne clear bol diya tha ki dekho, mere ko ka larger than life hi dikhana, kyuki maine picture bhi banayai thi Tubelight, voh pitt gayi kyuki mere ko usme mandbuddhi dikha diya. Aur voh janta ko pasand nahi aata (When we were making the ad, he clearly told us to portray him as larger than life. He said in Tubelight, he was portrayed as an unintelligent man and the audience did not like it, hence the film was a disaster),” he added.
