Kapil Sibal, a former leader of the Congress, attended the INDIA gathering for the first time. Why wasn’t Bhagwant Mann properly welcomed? was questioned by BJP.
Significant developments occurred on the second and last day of the opposition alliance INDIA’s meeting in Mumbai, when a resolution regarding seat distribution was made. The opposition parties pledged to fight alongside one another “as much as possible,” while the BJP continued to bash India. In a significant step, former Congress leader Kapil Sibal, who had defected from the party, joined the conference. He stood to the side of the Congress’ top officials in the group portrait.
These are the key conclusions from the INDIA alliance meeting :
1. Setting up of committees
A number of committees were formed, and they will now address various concerns. The seat-sharing arrangements will start right away in each state with an open-minded attitude of giving and taking.
2. No logo launched
It was widely believed that the third meeting in Mumbai would see the official unveiling of the INDIA Group’s logo. Sanjay Raut, the leader of the Shiv Sena, stated there would be further negotiations on the matter but the logo was not released. The BJP asserted that the leaders of INDIA were unable to agree on a logo. “This is nothing new! In a tweet, the BJP questioned when they had ever reached an agreement.
3. Early election ?
With the top committee being formed amid rumors of early elections, the INDIA bloc got the electoral process started. These rumors have been brought on by the five-day special session of Parliament that took place from September 18 to 22. There is no guarantee, but early elections are possible, therefore we must stay vigilant and ready. Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, said, “We have talked about this.
4. Nitish Kumar Hoppenheimer
In a play on the name Oppenheimer, the BJP dubbed Nitish Kumar Hoppenheimer when he declared he was not running for prime minister. “Interesting tale of a chief minister who changed parties five times to maintain his position. Nitish Kumar plays professional party hopper Hoppenheimer in the satirical billboard for the BJP.
5. No welcome to Bhagwant Mann
AAP convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was joined at the two-day conference by Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chandha. The BJP posted a video of the three people arriving at the location, with only Kejriwal receiving a greeting. “Pretty sad to see how Punjab CM was treated,” BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla stated. Was the welcome team told by AAP leaders that Kejriwal should be the only one greeted rather than Punjab CM because Kejriwal is the Super CM of Punjab and the inactive CM of Delhi ?
6. Kejriwal says ‘desperate attempts…’
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in his statement after the two-day meet said there are desperate attempts to show infighting in INDIA. But all opposition parties are together and no leader is in the alliance for the PM post, Kejriwal added.
7. Sibal’s first attendance
Kapil Sibal, a respected attorney and Rajya Sabha member, attended the meeting on Friday. According to reports, Kapil Sibal’s appearance at the conference caused a stir since senior Congress officials disapproved of Sibal’s attendance. Despite the fact that Sibal was absent from the group shot with the Congress leaders, it appears that the upper leadership of the party had no issue with Sibal attending the meeting.
8. ‘Differences being ironed out’
In his remark, Rahul Gandhi said that although INDIA’s leaders disagree with one another, these talks are bridging their differences and bringing them closer. As conflicts are resolved, there is more pliability among the leaders, according to Rahul Gandhi.
9. ‘Ready to compromise’
RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav said there will be no problem with seat sharing in the states as the parties are ready to compromise for the bigger cause of defeating the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
10.”Be ready for additional ED raids”
Due to the government’s vendetta politics, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge warned the opposition leaders to be ready for additional ED raids.
