Since the beginning of the 2023 IPL, Shivam Dube has been in explosive form, which has led to his comeback to the Indian team.
Since the start of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL), Shivam Dube has been in fantastic form, and he has carried that form into the Deodhar Trophy. This has resulted in his recall to the Indian team for the upcoming trip of Ireland as well as the Asian Games.
Due to his power hitting prowess and use by Chennai Super Kings as a finisher, Dube, 30, scarcely bowled at all throughout the IPL season. He played a key role in CSK’s journey to a record-tying fifth title by scoring 418 runs in the 16 games with a strike rate of 158.33.
Dube has maintained his form in domestic cricket. In the Deodhar Trophy, he hit an unbeaten 83 off 78 balls to help West Zone defeat North Zone. In the innings, he smashed five sixes and three fours. After the game, Dube stated that he had “upgraded” his game, with talismanic CSK skipper MS Dhoni playing a key part.
On the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) website, Dube remarked in a video, “I cannot describe all the things (that Dhoni assisted me with). “My game has been enhanced. I got to know how to finish the game, how to be in the situation, how to tackle the bowlers, that all things are more important and many things are there but cannot express all the things.
But I did receive some significant tips. He instructed me to continue playing and make an effort to win the game. Keep believing in yourself because your batting will help you win many games, he advised. Prior to the start of the season, Dhoni, according to Dube, made sure he understood his position.
Dube has scored 32 points from 21 balls to remain unblemished in the championship. He was on the opposite end when Gujarat Titans’ chase was spectacularly ended by Ravindra Jadeja. After lengthy weather delays that even forced the game onto a reserve day, the aim of 171 had been amended, and CSK needed 13 to win off the last over. Only three runs were conceded by Mohit Sharma in the first four balls, leaving CSK needing 10 runs from the final two to win.
But Jadeja achieved precisely that as he hit a six off the second to last ball and a four off the final ball, setting off chaos as CSK celebrated their fifth IPL championship. Together with the Mumbai Indians, they were the league’s most successful team ever.
