On Thursday, an Air India flight leaving Mumbai got a bomb threat. Following this, a full emergency was declared at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. According to airport sources, the plane arrived at the airport about 8 a.m. There were 135 passengers on board, and the plane was transported to the isolation bay.
According to sources, the passengers were successfully removed from the plane at 8:44 a.m. (AI657). When the jet arrived near Thiruvananthapuram Airport, the pilot reported receiving a bomb threat. The airport was notified about the situation at 7:30 a.m. At 7:36 a.m., an airport-wide emergency was declared.
According to sources, all passengers and crew are well. There are no operational issues at the airport. It is unclear who issued the threat or how. The matter is under investigation.
Meanwhile, an Air India representative stated that a specific security alert was discovered on Air India aircraft AI657 while flying from Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram on August 22. The aircraft has successfully landed in Thiruvananthapuram, and security agencies are conducting obligatory checks. It’s been parked in a remote location. All passengers and personnel departed safely.
