Excerpts from People magazine from Britney Spears’ upcoming memoir suggest that she had an abortion in the late 1990s and early 2000s, during her romance with Justin Timberlake.
When Britney Spears was dating Justin Timberlake, she had an abortion.
Britney Spears wrote in her autobiography “The Woman in Me” that she wanted the child and that the pregnancy was “a surprise,” but she gave in to Timberlake’s pressure and had the abortion. She goes on to write about the emotional upheaval she experienced at this time.
“I loved Justin so much,” the writer wrote. Spears stated, “But Justin clearly wasn’t delighted about the pregnancy. I always expected us to have a family together one day. He claimed that we were far too young and not ready to become parents.
“I never would have done it,” Spears wrote if she had made the decision alone. Despite this, Justin was adamant that he didn’t want to have children. “One of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life,” was how she put the incident.
When Reuters reached out to Justin Timberlake’s representatives for comment, they did not immediately answer.
WHAT IT IS THEY RELATIONSHIP
After meeting on “The Mickey Mouse Club” set, Justin and Britney dated for three years until splitting up in 2002. In 2021, when Spears was included in a TV documentary, Timberlake openly apologized to her on social media.
Britney and singer Kevin Federline had a second marriage in which she gave birth to two sons. She revealed that she was pregnant in 2022 with her then-fiance Sam Asghari, but the following month she revealed that she had lost her baby.
In June 2022, they were married, but 14 months later, they got divorced. Spears’ autobiography, which Gallery Books is scheduled to publish on October 24, was written two years after she was freed from her father Jamie Spears’ 13-year conservatorship.
