Islamabad/New Delhi – In a glaring display of misinformation and diplomatic embarrassment, Pakistan’s claim of having shot down five Indian fighter jets during the so-called “Operation Sindoor” has been thoroughly debunked, with no concrete evidence provided by Islamabad. The baseless assertion has been further discredited following a bizarre interview given by Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif to an international news channel, where he failed to offer any credible proof.

False Claims and No Evidence

In the wake of alleged Indian strikes, the Pakistani government attempted to save face by circulating the narrative that it had brought down five Indian aircraft. However, no verifiable footage, wreckage, radar evidence, or official documentation has been presented to back this claim. The international community and defense analysts have widely dismissed the statement as propaganda meant to pacify domestic audiences and cover up Pakistan’s own vulnerabilities.

Minister’s Embarrassing Interview on CNN

In an exclusive interview with CNN, Pakistani Defence Minister Khawaja Asif was directly questioned about the alleged downing of Indian jets. When the anchor pressed him for evidence, Asif seemed visibly uncomfortable and offered a baffling response.

He stated, “This is all over social media, even Indian media is acknowledging it.” This claim, however, is entirely unsubstantiated, as no credible Indian media outlet has reported any such incident. The Defence Minister went on to claim, “The wreckage of the jets is lying in Kashmir,” without citing any official confirmation, satellite imagery, or third-party verification.

CNN’s anchor promptly interrupted Asif, stating, “We are not here to discuss social media content. We need real evidence.” When further probed about the equipment used to allegedly shoot down the jets, Asif failed to provide any technical specifics.

Contradictions on Use of Chinese Equipment

The interview took a more awkward turn when the anchor inquired whether Chinese defense equipment was used during the supposed operation. Asif initially denied any use of Chinese systems but then contradicted himself by stating that Pakistan possesses Chinese-made JF-17 and JF-10 fighter jets—developed in collaboration with China and assembled in Pakistan.

Trying to justify the use of foreign equipment, Asif remarked, “If India can buy aircraft from France, then we can also buy from China, Russia, or even the US.” However, the question was not about the origin of jets, but about the lack of verifiable action or evidence of any engagement with Indian aircraft.

Admission of Supporting Terrorism

In a stunning revelation from a separate interview with international media, Khawaja Asif admitted that Pakistan had funded terrorist organizations in the past. “We’ve been doing this dirty work for a long time. We did it for three decades for the United States,” Asif confessed, referring to Pakistan’s role in supporting militant groups during the Afghan conflict.

He acknowledged that these policies were a “mistake” and have backfired on Pakistan itself, leading to internal instability and global criticism.

Global Backlash and Loss of Credibility

The combination of unsubstantiated military claims and public admission of funding terrorism has severely damaged Pakistan’s credibility on the international stage. Defense analysts and global watchdogs have called out the country’s continued reliance on misinformation and double-speak.

India has officially dismissed Pakistan’s claims as “baseless and fictitious,” stating that no Indian aircraft has been lost and no confrontation has taken place as described by Islamabad.

Conclusion

The recent turn of events highlights Pakistan’s growing diplomatic isolation and internal inconsistencies. While trying to fabricate military victories, its leadership is simultaneously making damaging admissions about past affiliations with terror groups. The international community is watching closely, and Pakistan now faces increasing pressure to shift from propaganda to transparency.
