Prayagraj, February 6, 2025: The sacred Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 continues to witness an overwhelming influx of devotees at the Triveni Sangam, with over 71.74 lakh people taking a holy dip in the sacred waters today. Since the commencement of the event, more than 39 crore pilgrims have bathed in the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.

Adding to the spiritual vibrance, a group of 68 Pakistani Hindu devotees has arrived in Prayagraj to participate in the holy bathing ritual. Expressing gratitude, Govind Ram Makheja, a devotee from Sindh, Pakistan, said, “We are fortunate to have come from Sindh for this sacred ritual. The arrangements here are excellent. We have been provided with comfortable tents and delicious food.”

Massive Turnout at Maha Kumbh 2025

The spiritual fervor at Maha Kumbh has been at its peak, with lakhs of devotees arriving every day to take part in the religious rituals. As of today, more than 71.74 lakh pilgrims have bathed in the Triveni Sangam, and over 10 lakh devotees are staying for the Kalpavas, a month-long religious observance. By February 5, the total count of devotees who had taken a holy dip had already surpassed 38.97 crore.

Haryana CM Nayab Saini Takes Holy Dip with Family

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited Prayagraj today with his family and took a holy dip at Triveni Sangam. Speaking on the occasion, he remarked, “Maha Kumbh is not just a religious gathering but a living heritage of Sanatan culture. The entire world is witnessing India’s spiritual and cultural magnificence through this grand event.” He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their efforts in organizing this monumental religious festival.

Following his visit, Industrial Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, presented CM Saini with a Kumbh Kalash as a token of honor and extended a warm welcome on behalf of the state government.

Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan Visits Maha Kumbh

Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan also arrived in Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh and participated in the Ganga Aarti at the Swami Chidanand Saraswati Camp, Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Praising the eco-friendly initiatives of the Ashram, he stated, “India’s faith and devotion are the foundation of its culture. The spiritual and environmental awareness seen here is commendable.”

Buddhist Monks Participate in Holy Bath

Adding to the diversity of religious participation, Buddhist monks, including Bhantes and Lamas, also took a dip in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam. This symbolizes Maha Kumbh’s universal spiritual significance, attracting followers from various religions and cultures.

Goa CM Promod Sawant Impressed by Maha Kumbh Arrangements

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant flagged off the first pilgrimage train under the Chief Minister Dev Darshan Yatra Scheme for devotees traveling to Maha Kumbh 2025. He praised the Uttar Pradesh government’s efficient organization, stating, “With over 40 crore people participating, this is a prestigious global spiritual event. Managing such a vast gathering is a challenge, and the arrangements made under CM Yogi Adityanath’s leadership are remarkable.”

Traffic Disruptions in Prayagraj Due to Maha Kumbh

While the grand event has been progressing smoothly, traffic congestion has become a major concern. Today, a massive traffic jam was witnessed on the Shastri Bridge, causing delays and confrontations between commuters and police officials. In response to the increasing crowd and roadblocks, the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of Prayagraj has announced that online classes for schools up to Class 8 will be conducted from February 7 to 12 to avoid inconvenience to students.
