In the introduction of the resolution in the House, CM Stalin stated that NEET will have an impact on medical services in rural and underdeveloped areas in addition to making medical education unaffordable for poor and rural students.

Once more, the Tamil Nadu Assembly unanimously approved a resolution requesting that the state be exempted from the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test by the Center. In addition, it called for the ability of students to be admitted to medical programs depending only on their performance on the Plus Two exam. The resolution put forward by DMK leader and Chief Minister MK Stalin was backed by PMK, an ally of the BJP. CM Stalin declared in the House that there was discrimination in this exam. This denied disadvantaged and rural students the chance to seek medical education.

Former chief minister and leader of the AIADMK Edappadi Palaniswami charged that the DMK wasn’t doing enough to get rid of NEET. He asked, “What is the meaning of bringing a resolution in the assembly for the third time?” “This is a political drama of the DMK government,” declared the leader of the AIADMK. Such political tactics are not believed in by the public.”

Nainar Nagendran, a BJP legislator in the Assembly, highlighted the importance of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). “NEET is required. The Assembly’s resolution opposing NEET is not up to par. We’re leaving,” he declared. Along with Nagendran, several other BJP leaders left the room.
