All airline operations at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 1 were suspended following the incident. Early on Friday morning, a portion of the roof of Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 1 in Delhi fell. Following this, aviation travel from this location was banned until further notice. In reality, amid a downpour in the nation’s capital on Friday morning, an area of the roof of Indira Gandhi International Airport’s “Terminal-1” crashed onto cars.
In the meanwhile, following the roof collapse incident, the Civil Aviation Ministry has instructed airlines to make sure that there isn’t an unusual increase in the cost of flights to and from the nation’s capital. Following the incident, which happened on Friday morning at around five in the morning, IndiGo and SpiceJet reported postponing their domestic flights. Following a disruption to Terminal 1 operations, traffic was temporarily diverted to T2 and T3.
All domestic flights are handled at Terminal 1, which was once known as the old Palam Terminal.
