Senior meteorologists Atul Kumar Singh and Mohammad Danish predict that the state would see good rain starting tomorrow. The state as a whole will have reprieve from the severe heatwave when the monsoon arrives.

Prior to this, pre-monsoon rain fell on Monday over the majority of Uttar Pradesh’s districts, including the state capital Lucknow. The weather changed nice after that. Lucknow received 7.1 mm on Monday.

The mercury level was also impacted by the rain. In certain locations, temperatures fell below 35 degrees. In Najibabad, the daytime temperature was reported to be 33 degrees Celsius. It was between 40 and 42 degrees at Sultanpur, Kanpur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Basti, Jhansi, and Etawah. It stayed below 40 in the remaining locations.
