The leader of Kenya described the attack on the Parliament as a security risk and said that such chaos would not recur “at any cost.”

Additionally, rumors emerged of the use of tear gas shells when things got out of hand. A tear gas shell also struck the sister of former US President Barack Obama, who was present at the rally.
