A tempo passenger fell into the Alaknanda near Rudraprayag district. The vehicle is said to carry 26 passengers. The collision killed nine passengers. Twelve have been rescued.
A severe accident has been reported in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district. Here, a tempo traveler fell into the Alaknanda River. Nine persons were confirmed dead in the disaster. Twelve were rescued. Many folks are in critical condition. There are efforts underway to rescue some people.
It is said that the Tempo Traveller carried 26 passengers. The injured are being transported to a higher facility via helicopter. The helicopter flew to Rudraprayag from Guptkashi. Four injured people have been transported to AIIMS by helicopter. According to information collected thus far, a Tempo Traveller plunged into the Alaknanda river near Raitoli on the Badrinath Highway, five kilometers before Rudraprayag city.
After receiving the information, the police administration, district disaster management, DDRF, and other teams conducted rescue operations on the site. It is reported that three guys working on the railway line here jumped to save the boat, one of whom passed away.
CM Dhami expressed regret at the accident.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his anguish over the catastrophe, saying, “We received very painful news of the Tempo Traveller crash.” The local authorities and SDRF members are conducting relief and rescue activities. The injured have been sent to the nearest medical facility for treatment. The District Magistrate has been ordered to investigate the event.
