Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s assistant Bibhav Kumar’s bail plea in the Swati Maliwal assault case was rejected by the court on Monday. This order was issued by Sushil Anuj Tyagi, Additional Sessions Judge of the Tis Hazari Court. On May 18, Delhi Police detained Kumar. Following that, he was placed in police detention for five days. On May 24, he was placed into judicial detention. Swati Maliwal represents the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Rajya Sabha. She claims that while she was at Kejriwal’s house, Kumar attacked her.
The attorney representing Bibhav Kumar said in court that she went to the Chief Minister’s house unwanted and forced to get inside. Who called her was disclosed to the court. Did she get a call? The attorney asked why Maliwal did not go to the police that same day and why AIIMS, rather than any government hospital in Delhi, conducted her assessment. Everything had been prepared to support the story.

In addition, Swati Maliwal herself notified the court that AAP leaders and their social media team are looking at her. She claimed that after posting the video about the incident, she has received threats of death and rape, citing the work of YouTuber Dhruv Rathi. Maliwal claimed that Bibhav Kumar’s release to the public would put her and her family’s lives in serious danger.
