At 5 p.m. on Saturday, a large fire started in a crowded game zone in Rajkot, Gujarat. 12 kids were part of the twenty-four victims of the tragedy. Over 25 individuals have been safely evacuated. According to officials, there might be more fire deaths. The Municipal Corporation and the administration have been ordered by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to begin relief and rescue operations in response to the fire event as soon as possible. Furthermore, all game zones without a fire NOC are to be shut down, per state government directive.
According to officials, the fire started at 4:30 p.m. in the fiber dome intended for gaming activities. It had been reported to the fire control room at about 4:30 p.m. Ambulances and firefighters raced to the scene to put out the flames. The fire caused the structure to collapse, and the rubble is being cleaned away. Rescue operations are in progress at the affected TRP game zone, according to Rajkot Collector Prabhav Joshi. He said that the weekend and the holiday season were to blame for the game zone’s crowding.
Several spots within the gaming zone underwent repairs and improvements, based on eyewitnesses. Wood and plywood fragments in huge numbers were scattered. These too caught fire as soon as the fire began, and in less than 30 seconds, the entire game zone went up in flames. The fire has reduced the entire game zone to ashes. The cause of the fire has not yet been driven, though. It took around three hours to put out the fire. The deceased people’s bodies, according to officials, were severely burnt. They haven’t been identified yet as a result. An identity test using DNA will be conducted. The wounded have been admitted to local healthcare centers.
