Former Kurukshetra MP and OBC leader Kailasho Saini claimed that the BJP is plotting to amend the Constitution, while the Congress is battling to protect citizens’ rights.
On Sunday, former Kurukshetra MP and OBC leader Kailasho Saini moved from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the Congress, in the presence of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, in Rohtak.
Addressing the reporters, Saini stated that she had joined the party without limitations and will fight for INDIA bloc candidate Sushil Gupta in Kurukshetra.
“For several months, I had planned to join the Congress because the BJP shows no regard for workers and leaders. The BJP has used batons to silence farmers, wrestlers, sarpanches, youths, and government officials, she claimed.
The two-time MP further claimed that the BJP is plotting to amend the Constitution while the Congress fights to protect citizens’ rights.
Hooda welcomed her into the party fold, saying there is a Congress tsunami in Haryana, with over 40 former MLAs and MPs joining the party in recent months. Three independent MLAs recently expressed support for the party.
The leader of the opposition said, “We have sent a memo to the governor asking him to dissolve the assembly and hold new elections in the state as the BJP has no majority to run the government.”
On the tickets of the INLD and OP Chautala’s Haryana Lok Dal (Rashtriya), Kailasho Saini was elected to the Lok Sabha twice from Kurukshetra: in 1998 and 1999. Haryana Lok Dal (Rashtriya) was the previous name of the INLD. She was the Kurukshetra Zila Parishad’s chairperson as well.
