Elvish Yadav was one of the six names in the FIR that was submitted on November 3 to the Sector 49 police station.

Noida : On Sunday, the Noida Police detained well-known YouTuber and TV personality Elvish Yadav in connection with a case involving the use of snake venom as a recreational drug during a party in the previous year. A local court placed him under judicial custody for 14 days. The reason behind the controversial celebrity’s arrest was later disclosed by the authorities.

Elvish Yadav was called in for questioning on Sunday afternoon, according to Noida DCP Vidya Sagar Mishra, but he wasn’t answering questions. The inhabitant of Gurugram has been withholding information, the police official said.

Elvish Yadav was asked to appear in court today in connection with a Wildlife Protection Act issue. During the interrogation, it was discovered that he was concealing information,” the officer stated.

He claimed that by strengthening the relevant NDPS Act parts, he was brought before the court.

“A complaint against Elvish Yadav and others was brought under the Wild Life Protection Act of 1972. He was brought before the court by strengthening the relevant parts of the NDPS Act in the aforementioned case, and he was called in for questioning today,” he continued.

Elvish Yadav was one of the six names in the FIR that was submitted on November 3 to the Sector 49 police station. Yadav is the only accused who is not in custody; the others are all free on bond.

The case was filed under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 and for criminal conspiracy under Section 120B of the Indian Penal Code.

The snake poison case was later transferred from Sector 49 to the Sector 20 police station for examination.

“The accused was arrested by a team from Sector 20 police station who were investigating the case,” Additional DCP (Noida) Manish Mishra told PTI.

Elvish Yadav had denied the claims.

On November 3, five persons were arrested at a banquet facility in Sector 51. Nine snakes, including five cobras, were recovered from their possession. Snake venom vials were also recovered.

Elvish Yadav claimed that he was not there during the gathering.

Maneka Gandhi, the PFA chairperson and BJP leader, has accused Elvish Yadav of unlawfully peddling snake venom.
