Arvind Kejriwal introduces confidence motion: On Friday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal filed a motion in the legislature seeking a vote of confidence. The House has been postponed till tomorrow to allow for the deliberation of this resolution.

Speaking at the assembly, Kejriwal stated, “This so-called liquor scam is not a scam at all.” They (BJP) refuse to conduct a (fair) probe. All of the AAP leaders have been arrested in connection with this scam. Their sole goal is to overthrow the Delhi administration by any means necessary.”

The National Capital Territory of Delhi’s seventh Legislative Assembly is now in its fifth budget session.

The motion in the assembly came just days after the Enforcement Directorate summoned the Aam Aadami Party (AAP) chairman for the sixth time in connection with an ongoing probe into the now-defunct liquor policy.

The seventh Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi is currently in its sixth Budget session.

The assembly decision came only days after the Enforcement Directorate summoned the Aam Aadami Party (AAP) chairman for the sixth time in connection with an ongoing probe into the now-defunct liquor policy.

Kejriwal, who has denied any wrongdoing, said that the Bharatiya Janata Party attempted to abduct AAP MLAs and overthrow his administration by utilizing law enforcement agencies.

Kejriwal has been summoned to testify before the central investigating body on February 19. He had already been summoned on February 2, January 18, and January 3 of this year, as well as December 21 and November 2 of 2023.

The chief minister has constantly labelled these notices as “illegal.

The sixth summons followed a Delhi court’s answer to an ED-filed case, which ordered Kejriwal to appear, claiming that the AAP chairman is “legally bound” to comply.

“From the contents of the complaint and the material placed on record, prima facie offence under Section 174 of the IPC is made out and there are sufficient grounds for proceeding against accused Arvind Kejriwal…”

“Accordingly, issue summons to accused Arvind Kejriwal for the offence under Section 174 of the IPC for February 17, 2024,” the lawyer stated.

Notably, senior AAP leaders Satyendar Jain, Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh have been imprisoned in money laundering cases.
