In a raid on south Lebanon, Israel killed a prominent commander of the Hezbollah group, raising fears that the conflict in Gaza could expand to the Middle East.

New Delhi : The BJP replied on Monday to a Bihar minister’s barb at the party over the Ram Temple consecration ceremony on January 22, saying the opposition could hang photographs of Babar and Afzal Guru and revere them.

In response to Bihar education minister Chandra Shekhar’s statement, Union minister Nityanand Rai said the country needs Captain Abdul Hamid, not Afzal Guru and Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

“This (Ram Temple) is the road to cultural liberty.” I don’t understand what they have against Lord Ram and the Ram Temple that they keep opposing it. According to their goals and policy, it appears that they would hang portraits of Babar and Afzal Guru and revere them. Not Babur, Afzal Guru, or Jinnah’s ‘jinn’, but Ashfaqulla Khan and Captain Hamid are needed for the country. “Here, Lord Ram’s integrity is required,” he explained.

Earlier today, Bihar education minister and RJD leader Chandra Shekhar stated that the country requires more schools than temples. He was referring to the upcoming ceremony in Ayodhya.

“Where will you go if you get hurt?” Is it a temple or a hospital? Will you attend a temple or a school if you want to become an officer, MLA, or MP? Savitribai Phule’s remarks were echoed by Fateh Bahadur Singh (RJD MLA). What is the problem here? He referred to Savitribai Phule. Isn’t education required?…We must be wary of pseudo-Hinduvaad and pseudo-nationalism,” he said.

“Where will you go to look for Lord Ram when he resides in each of us and everywhere?”…The places that have been assigned have been turned into exploitation sites, utilized to line the pockets of a few conspirators in society,” he added.

Babar was an Indian ruler who founded the Mughal empire.
