The trailer for Kamal Haasan’s next action movie, Thug Life, starring Mani Ratnam, was released. Thirty-six years after their cult epic Nayakan in 1987, Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam will return in this film.
Fans should be excited by Kamal Haasan’s appearance in the video as Rangaraya Sakthivel Naicker, since Sakthivel Naicker was Kamal’s character’s name in Nayakan. As they get close, he removes his robe to reveal an unusual white attire before pummeling them. Jayam Ravi and Trisha are featured in Thug Life as well.
Fans flocked the comment area to express their joy as soon as the video was released. “An actual, new cinema is coming,” one user commented. It’s Nayakan again. Cinema Wammala Idhaan da”. One more person stated, “morethan what we expected”.
Thug Life was written by Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan. Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies, owned by Udhayanidhi Stalin and Ratnam, will produce it. Producing will be Haasan, Ratnam, R. Mahendran, and Siva Ananth. Ratnam and Haasan were scheduled to collaborate on “Ponniyin Selvan,” an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s beloved novel, following the success of “Nayakan,” but they were unable to work together for a variety of reasons.
In addition to Thug Life, Kamal Haasan will feature in Indian 2, Shankar’s follow-up to the hugely successful action movie from 1996. In the follow-up, he will play Senapathy once more. On April 12, 2024, Indian 2 is slated to open in theaters. Kajal, Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh are also featured in the movie.
