Two months remain until the ultimate Dunki-Salaar showdown, and moviegoers all around the nation are eagerly awaiting every new development regarding both films in an attempt to predict which will win. On December 22, 2023, Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan, and Prashanth Neel’s Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire, starring Prabhas, will both open in theatres.
Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays a major role in Salaar, is excitedly awaiting the clash of the titans, just like the audience. As a movie buff, I adore the fact that we are releasing with Hirani Sir and Shah Rukh Sir’s film, leave everything else aside! In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, he stated, “I am excited that over the holiday season, there are two massive films, directed by two massive filmmakers, starring two big stars, and diametrically opposite in every possible parameter like the story and narrative.”
“I am going to be watching both, I can promise you that. I am so looking forward to it. When did this last happen, that over a holiday season, we had two such big films? What better year than 2023 to celebrate Indian cinema like this,” he added.
Production company Hombale Films debuted actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s first glimpse from Salaar on Monday, the Malayalam film star’s birthday. Vardharaja Mannar, played by Prithviraj, is said to possess multiple facets of humanity. The film’s teaser, which the producers posted in July, had a tone reminiscent of Neel’s last franchise, KGF.
Concurrently, Prithviraj is working on his third film, L2E – Empuraan, as a director. He returned to work after a three-month hiatus due to an accident on the set of his next film Vilayath Buddha. Empuraan, a follow-up to his helmer debut, Lucifer (2019), starring Mohanlal in the title character and also stars Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Indrajith Sukumaran. Officially, the movie began production on October 5.
The action crime thriller Kaapa (2022) directed by Shaji Kailas starred Prithviraj Sukumaran, who garnered mixed reviews.
