Recently, actor Shefali Shah made an appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’s Shaandar Somvaar. Together with activist Hare Ram Pandey, the actor spoke about girl children on the show. The actress, who has two kids, revealed that she has always wished for a girl. She was so certain that it was a daughter that she asked the doctor to double check when she was in the delivery room the second time and he told her about her boy.
Shefali revealed this incident from her personal life with Amitabh Bachchan, the show’s host, during their talk. Shefali stated, “A baby’s birth is a very happy moment,” during the show. It’s for me too, particularly for a girl. Two sons are mine. Initially, it went well. He was my eldest child. extremely happy. When he was born during the second delivery, the doctor said, “Kitna khoobsurat beta hai.” (What a lovely son). “Dobara check kar lo shayad beti ho,” I murmured.(Verify again; perhaps it’s a daughter).
The actor highlighting on the love families are willing to give their girl-child, said, “There are so many people, who want a girl. Even in this day and age at some places, babies are abandoned and especially if it’s a girl.”
On the work front, Shefali is soaring high. She was recently nominated to the Emmys for her web series Delhi Crime 2. In an interview with The Indian Express, Shefali spoke about playing her character Vartika in the two seasons of the show. “Essaying the same character in a new season does not get easier. It’s a new beginning. Every new situation gets a different reaction from us. That goes for (my character) Vartika Chaturvedi too. In the first season, she almost became a ‘hero’. In the second season, she is more human.”
In addition to Shefali, Jim Sarbh is nominated for two significant international awards: one for Best Performance by an Actor for his role as Homi Jehangir Bhabha in the SonyLIV series Rocket Boys and another for Comedy for Vir Das: Landing on Netflix.
