Up to 118 initiatives proposed by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were approved during the cabinet meeting, which is likely to be the last before the assembly election later this year.
Following the late-night cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the Madhya Pradesh government announced Pandhurna and Maihar as two new districts in the state on Thursday.
Up to 118 suggestions made by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were approved during the cabinet meeting, which is probably the final before the assembly elections later this year.
The cabinet also approved 18 irrigation projects, nine welfare boards, eight new local councils, and two new districts.
The cabinet has approved the creation of two new districts, Pandhurna and Maihar, as well as eight municipal councils: Nahargarh, Simaria, Barodiya, Gandhinagar, Singhpur, Gulana, Rahatgaon, and Beohari, according to medical education minister Vishvas Sarang. Rajak Kalyan Board, Swarnkala Welfare Board, Teli Board, Kush Kalyan Board, Veer Tejaji Welfare Board, Maharana Pratap Welfare Board, Jai Meenesh Welfare Board, and Maa Puri Bai Keer Welfare Board are among the nine welfare boards in Madhya Pradesh.
The proposal to charge a one-time examination fee for competitive exams administered by the Staff Selection Board (SSB) was also accepted by the cabinet.
Government employees, workers, and contract workers would all be eligible for Ayushman Bharat Yojana benefits under Niramay Yojana.
Additionally, it was determined to raise the pay for forest guards. A 3,000 additional compensation will be granted to the employees of cooperative society shops. It has also been decided to raise the prices for daily honoraria and performance allowances for tribal and folk artists, according to Sarang.
