The success of the G20 Summit, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was due to the entire country and not just one person or political group.
“Today, you have all expressed unanimity in praising the G20’s success…I would like to thank you. 140 crore of the nation’s residents are responsible for the G20’s success. Success belongs to India, not to any one person or political group. On the first day of the extraordinary session of parliament, the prime minister addressed the Lok Sabha and said, “It is a matter for all of us to celebrate.
The PM emphasized that “India’s power ensured consensus on the G20 declaration” while also mentioning the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member of the power bloc.
“India would be pleased that the African Union joined the G20 while it was its presidency. I’ll never forget the teary-eyed moment when the African Union President joked that he might cry while making the news. You can only fathom India’s good fortune in being able to live up to such high hopes and expectations, Modi added.
“It (the Unanimous Declaration) was made possible by India’s strength…We will give the P20 Summit of G20 Parliament Speakers, which you announced, our full support, he continued.
The prime minister praised Chandrayaan 3’s successful lunar landing during his speech. “Today, all across the world, people are talking about the accomplishments of all Indians. This is the outcome of our collective work throughout the past 75 years of our Parliament’s existence. Chandrayaan-3’s accomplishments have made not just India but the entire globe proud, according to Modi.
This has brought to light a new aspect of India’s strength, one that is linked to science, technology, the potential of our scientists, and the might of the 140 crore people that make up the nation. I want to applaud our scientists once again today,” he continued.
