27 July 2023 ( New Delhi ) : According to the Japanese clothing giant, the 11th physical Uniqlo store in India will open on 6 October 2023 at Phoenix Market city, Kurla, Mumbai. Uniqlo, which is Asia’s largest clothing brand, had said that India is one of the top priority markets for them as consumers are increasingly shifting from ‘fast-fashion’ to long-lasting essential and functional apparel.
The brand made its India debut in 2019 when it opened its first store in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.Now, this exclusive dynamic brand is all set to launch its first store in the city of dreams, Mumbai.
Uniqlo competes heavily with major labels such as H&M, Gap and Zara, all of which have massive followings in India. After experiencing immense success in New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab, it has now turned its sights to this metropolitan city. The store is scheduled to launch later this year on October 6 at Phoenix Market City, a sprawling shopping mall in Kurla.
All 10 of its stores are in North India and the company is looking to establish a significant manufacturing presence in India through around 20′ production partners. Currently, UNIQLO operates in over 2,400 locations worldwide. Since opening its first store in Hiroshima in 1984, Uniqlo has expanded to major global markets.
