The mother, who took her own life, had asked her husband and two kids to wait while she went to the store to purchase veggies. The three murdered when the building crashed into them.

AHMEDABAD : Police confirmed on Wednesday that a 30-year-old woman who lost her husband and two young children in the Junagadh building that fell committed suicide.

The crumbling two-story structure in Junagadh’s Kadiyavad neighborhood fell on her husband, an autorickshaw driver, and their two sons, aged 13 and 7, as they waited for her in their autorickshaw on Monday.

The heartbroken mother locked herself in her bathroom on Tuesday night and drank acid after performing the final words for her husband and two children. She was taken to a hospital for treatment, but SN Masida, a police officer at the Junagadh A division police station, claimed that she did not survive.

On Wednesday morning, her brother-in-law reported the suicide to the police, the police official said.

Gitaben Parmar, the governor of Junagadh, claimed that the building was poor and had been destroyed.

“When the building fell, there was an autorickshaw driver and his two children under it.” They were waiting for the mother to return from the vegetable store. Unfortunately, both the father and his two children were killed. “There was also a tea stall beneath the building whose owner was also killed in the crash,” Parmar explained.

The building fall occurred two days after a flash flood covered the city.

The mayor disclosed that at least 38 residential societies in Junagadh received letters from municipal authorities ordering residents to leave because of the condition of the building.

Further to the four people killed from the building fall apart Parmar informed that three more individuals have passed away recently in Junagadh City, because of the rains.
