PM Modi was speaking at the G20 energy ministers’ meeting.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that other nations had responded “encouragingly” to India’s proposal for a global grid, an effort to create a transnational infrastructure to improve energy security.

“We are encouraging our neighbors in this area to work together for everyone’s benefit. Speaking to the G20 group of energy ministers, PM Modi remarked, “And I can tell you, we are witnessing good outcomes.

He pointed out that the paths to energy transition varied due to our different realities, but the aims remain the same.

Top quotes from PM Modi’s address at G20 energy ministers’ meet:

  1. Energy is necessary for any discussion about the future, sustainability, or growth and progress to be complete. It affects development on all scales, from the individual to the international.
  2. India is making good progress in fulfilling its climate objectives. Leading the fight against climate change is India. Nine years earlier than expected, we met our non-fossil installed capacity goal. Our goal has been raised, and we now want to install 50% of non-fossil energy by 2030.
  3. India is a leader in the world for both solar and wind energy.
  4. In the past nine years, we have provided LPG to more than 190 million families in India. The historic feat of supplying electricity to every village has also been accomplished.
  5. Our goal is to promote egalitarian, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable energy for everyone. We launched a plan for the adoption of LED lights in 2015, which marked the start of a tiny movement. With an annual energy savings of more than 45 billion units, this program became the largest LED distribution scheme in the world.
  6. By 2030, it is anticipated that India’s domestic electric vehicle market would have 10 million yearly sales. We started distributing 20% ethanol-blended gasoline this year with the intention of having it available nationwide by 2025.
  7. We are developing a mission-mode on green hydrogen as an alternative for decarbonizing India. Making India a hub for the production, usage, and export of green hydrogen and its byproducts is the objective. We are pleased to impart our knowledge.
  8. We must guarantee affordable financing for developing nations. Technology gaps must be bridged, energy security must be supported, and diversified supply chains must be worked on.
  9. We must strengthen our collaboration on new fuels. The high-level hydrogen concepts are a step in the right direction.
  10. Realizing the idea of connected green grids has the potential to be transformative. It will make it possible to achieve our climate change objectives, encourage green investment, and generate millions of green employment. I cordially welcome you all to participate in the International Solar Alliance’s “green grids initiative” – one sun, one world, one grid.
