“The fight for the position of Lok Sabha Speaker is important,” stated Sanjay Raut. This time around, events are different between 2014 and 2019. There is uncertainty in the government. We’ve heard that Chandrababu Naidu has submitted a request to become Speaker of the Lok Sabha. PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have the power to split the TDP, JDU, and LJP if the NDA nominee is not selected for this office (Ram Vilas). In the event that Chandrababu Naidu is not selected for this role, we would see to it that the INDIA alliance endorses his candidacy.
Remarkably, there are media rumors suggesting that the opposition alliance may declare a candidate for the Lok Sabha Speaker position if they do not win the position of Deputy Speaker. The 17th Lok Sabha saw an open spot in the position of Deputy Speaker. The Lok Sabha’s first session is expected to start on June 24 and end on July 3. On June 27, President Draupadi Murmu will address the joint Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha session.
With 240 seats won in the just finished general elections, the BJP is 32 seats shy of the 272 majority required to win the majority. TDP (16) and JDU (12) have become the kingmakers with seats in this situation.
