The plot to trigger a big accident in Moradabad failed. Here, stones were placed on the train track. The Naini Doon Express was spared from overturning. The train was pulled along the track for 100 meters. The incident occurred around Mevanvada, ahead of Seohara. The train carried more than 1100 passengers.
On Tuesday, there was no serious accident in the railway division. A stone weighing around 100 kg landed in front of the Naini Doon Express, which was carrying over 1100 passengers and traveling at 80 kilometers per hour. As a result, the engine’s wheel was raised, and the vehicle was dragged 100 meters. The driver wisely stopped the train.
The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. When the Naini Doon Express (12091), which runs between Dehradun and Kathgodam, left Seohara, a large stone on the track came beneath the wheels. As the train’s speed grew, a loud ‘kat-kat’ sound emitted and the bogies began trembling. The passengers on the train became afraid.
The driver instantly decreased the train’s speed and then applied the brakes. When I got down, I noticed that there was a large stone between the rails and wheels. The driver promptly notified the control. The mechanical department crew arrived at Mewanwada and used tools to break up the stone into pieces. The stone wedged between the wheels was then removed with difficulty. Following this, the train went forward. The train remained at the throat for 36 minutes.
Where did such a large stone originate from on the tracks ?
The driver’s awareness saved him from an accident. Train operations were also unaffected. We’ll investigate how such a large stone ended up on the track. Railway employees had also patrolled the area. The investigation into this occurrence has begun. – Aditya Gupta, Senior DCM
