Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attended the centenary celebrations of Jain spiritual leader Acharya Vidyanand Maharaj and addressed the gathering with a powerful and spiritual message. The event, rich with cultural and philosophical reflections, saw a stirring moment when PM Modi said, “Jo humein chhedega…”<\/em> (“Whoever tries to provoke us…”), prompting an enthusiastic chorus of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”<\/em> from the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his address, the Prime Minister paid heartfelt tribute to Acharya Vidyanand Maharaj, describing him as a guiding light in India\u2019s spiritual tradition. He emphasized that India is the world\u2019s oldest living civilization due to its eternal philosophies, rooted in the teachings of its sages, saints, and acharyas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Modi recalled that it was on June 28, 1987, that Acharya Vidyanand Maharaj was conferred the title of Acharya. He called it a significant spiritual milestone, marking the flow of a compassionate and disciplined stream within the Jain tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He bowed to the Acharya’s legacy, saying, \u201cAs we celebrate his centenary today, this date reminds us of that historic moment. May his blessings always remain with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a gesture of humility, PM Modi accepted the honorary title of \u201cDharm Chakravarti\u201d<\/em> bestowed upon him during the ceremony. \u201cI do not consider myself worthy of this title, but as per our tradition, whatever comes from saints is accepted as prasada<\/em> (sacred offering). I accept it with humility and dedicate it to Bharat Mata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nine Resolutions for the Nation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

PM Modi also reiterated his nine key resolutions, urging citizens to embrace them for the nation\u2019s progress. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    He added, \u201cAcharya Vidyanand Maharaj believed that life becomes truly spiritual only when it is dedicated to service \u2014 a principle deeply embedded in Jain philosophy and Indian consciousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Promoting Ancient Languages and Culture<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    PM Modi highlighted his government’s initiatives to revive India\u2019s ancient heritage, particularly the Prakrit language, once used by Lord Mahavira. He emphasized that due to past neglect, this sacred language had faded from daily use. \u201cThanks to saints like Acharya Vidyanand Maharaj, we made their efforts a national movement and granted Prakrit the status of a \u2018Classical Language\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Prime Minister also noted efforts to digitize ancient Indian manuscripts and redevelop pilgrimage sites, ensuring that India\u2019s spiritual and cultural heritage is preserved alongside national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
