In the wake of a powerful military strike dubbed “Operation Sindoor”<\/strong>, the Indian government convened a high-level all-party meeting<\/strong> today at the Parliament\u2019s Annexe Building<\/strong>, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh<\/strong>. The meeting was called to brief opposition leaders on the military action, assess the evolving situation, and discuss India’s future strategy in the context of national security and counter-terrorism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior ministers including Home Minister Amit Shah, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar<\/strong> were present at the meeting. Representing the opposition were Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge<\/strong> and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi<\/strong>, among other political leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, the government shared classified details of Operation Sindoor<\/strong>, a precision military operation carried out by the Indian Armed Forces in the early hours of May 7<\/strong>. Between 1:05 AM and 1:30 AM<\/strong>, the Indian military launched a coordinated missile strike, deploying 24 precision-guided missiles<\/strong> that completely destroyed nine terrorist camps<\/strong>. Of these, five were located in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK)<\/strong>, while the remaining four were within Pakistan\u2019s borders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These terror hubs were reportedly used for recruiting, training, and deploying militants<\/strong> into Indian territory. Notably, sources confirm that 10 members of wanted terrorist Masood Azhar’s family<\/strong> were killed in the strike, sending a strong message to terror networks operating with impunity across the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Army on High Alert; Ceasefire Violations Under Watch<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Following the operation, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi<\/strong> is closely monitoring the Line of Control (LoC)<\/strong> and maintaining active communication with local military units. Defence sources say the Indian Army is on high alert for any potential retaliation<\/strong> or ceasefire violations<\/strong> by Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Armed Forces are prepared for any contingency. Any misadventure from across the border will be met with a strong and immediate response,” a senior defence official stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Modi Cancels Three-Nation Tour<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Amid rising tensions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has postponed his planned tour<\/strong> to Norway, Croatia, and the Netherlands<\/strong>, originally scheduled for May 13 to 17<\/strong>. This move underscores the seriousness of the current situation and the government\u2019s focus on national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demand for PM\u2019s Presence at the Meeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh<\/strong> demanded that Prime Minister Modi attend the all-party meeting. “We had requested his presence on April 24 as well, but he did not attend. In this critical moment, the Prime Minister must lead from the front,” Ramesh stated. He reiterated the opposition’s support for a firm stance against terrorism from Pakistan and PoJK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
