On Friday, an Indian passenger bus plummeted into the Marsyangdi river in central Nepal, killing at least 15 people. According to sources, there were 40 passengers on the bus. The bus carried a total of 42 persons, including the driver-conductor. All of the passengers are reported to be from Maharashtra. On August 20, the bus entered Nepal through the Belhiya checkpoint (Gorakhpur) near Rupandehi, with an 8-day permit. The accident occurred in Aina Pahada, Tanahun district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A team of 45 personnel from the Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School, commanded by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Madhab Paudel, arrived at the scene of the disaster. A rescue operation has been initiated. According to initial estimates, approximately 15 bodies have been retrieved. 16 people were rescued safely. Eleven people are still missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, an Indian bus carrying passengers from Gorakhpur to Nepal was involved in an accident on Friday. The bus was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Tanahun SP Birendra Shahi has provided facts regarding the accident. Inspector Abu Khaireni of the local police office is on the scene. The army and armed forces have been notified. In the meantime, the Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner stated that we are making contact in relation to the Nepal incident to ascertain whether anyone from Uttar Pradesh was aboard the bus. We are awaiting comprehensive incident details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two busses were washed away in the river in July.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, 65 people on two busses were carried away in Nepal’s high Trishuli River. Then, the Kathmandu-bound Angel bus collided with the Ganpati Deluxe bus. The busses were traveling from Kathmandu to Gaur, Rautahat. The incident occurred during heavy rains in the area.
