The Delhi Police questioned Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in connection with the bogus video of Amit Shah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arun Reddy, a Congress activist who manages the Spirit of Congress X handle, was arrested by Delhi Police in connection with Amit Shah’s phony video case, according to news agencies ANI and PTI. Congress leader Manickam Tagore claimed Friday that Arun Reddy has been arrested by Delhi Police for more than 24 hours without giving any information or the FIR. “We are demanding Arun’s immediate release. This autocratic abuse of power by the regime is abhorrent,” Tagore said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 1, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was called by the Delhi Police to appear in person for an investigation about a manipulated video purporting to be of Amit Shah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hyderabad Police Department announced on Friday that five Telangana Congress Party social media workers had been arrested in connection with the matter. The accused were granted bail by a local court with the condition of submitting two sureties worth \u20b910,000 apiece and appearing before the investigating officer on Mondays and Fridays till further instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a Hyderabad police statement, on April 27, a state BJP leader filed a complaint alleging that the Telangana Congress Pradesh Congress Party posted a morphed or fabricated video of Amit Shah’s speech during his election campaign and public meeting in Siddipet, in violation of the IT Act. The purposeful and wicked act of morphing the film is intended to mislead people and voters, instilling terror in OBC communities, according to the police, who have launched a case under Sections 469 (forgery), 505(1)C (circulating rumour), and 171G (disseminating false information), among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to investigators, Amit Shah spoke at a public meeting in Medak on April 23. A1 received a morphed video and published it to the “@INCTelangana” handle on X, as well as numerous WhatsApp groups, while A2 to A5 saw the movie and shared it to their respective X handles. The video was erased once X was told of the content’s sensitivity, they said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
