The parents of a lady who supposed died after receiving Covishield, an Indian version of the vaccine, have decided to sue the Serum Institute of India (SII) following AstraZeneca’s admission of the vaccine’s negative effects. The country’s vaccination program was developed by the Pune-based company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are a few reported unusual and uncommon side effects from the vaccination. Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS) is a potentially fatal side effect that lowers platelet numbers overall and induces blood clotting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Karunya, the victim who died in 2021 after receiving the vaccine shot, has been identified. The national committee at the time refuted the allegations, citing a lack of proof linking the death to the vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the full story of side effects was revealed, the victim’s father, Venugopalan Govindan, is preparing to submit a petition for compensation and the appointment of an independent medical board to probe his daughter’s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within a few months of the vaccine’s release, in March 2021, deaths from blood clots happened in 15 European countries; accordingly, Govindan told The Economic Times that AstraZeneca and Serum Institute would need to have stopped the vaccine’s production and distribution at that point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We will file fresh cases against the perpetrators because of whom the deaths of our children ensued,” he continued, “for the sake of justice.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The litigation Astra Zeneca is facing in the UK prompted the disclosure of the drug’s negative effects. The action was started by Jamie Scott, who received a permanent brain injury following the administration of the vaccination from Astra Zeneca.
