Mumbai <\/strong>: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday ordered district collectors to conduct a cleanliness push at all temples in the state and ensure that the change is “visible” within a week of the Lord Ram temple’s consecration on January 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The instructions were given by Eknath Shinde during a review meeting he presided over at his official house here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed that temples be kept clean. Maharashtra’s district collectors should conduct a temple cleansing push and decorate them with electricity. “The difference should be noticeable within a week,” Shinde added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He suggested that each district’s District Planning and Development Council set aside some monies to clean temples and their surrounds on a regular basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a press statement, Shinde told collectors that a separate scheme should be developed for the purpose, and that DPDCs can provide funding for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
