In an escalation of tensions between Ukraine and Russia, Ukraine’s military has already issued air alerts, warning civilians of the imminent threat of Russian missile strikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ukrainian air force claims, Russia launched a barrage of 35 attack drones at Ukraine in the early hours of Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All 35 Russian attack drones were detected and destroyed by Ukrainian air defense systems. However, the loss of the drones has alerted Ukraine to a new and increased threat of Russian missile strikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scenario is more worrying given that the Ukrainian military has deployed 16 Tu-95MS strategic bombers in the vicinity, ready to deliver cruise missiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The air force also reported Tu-95s taking off on December 29. Russia conducted a wave of strikes across Ukrainian cities, including the capital, on that day, killing 39 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tu-95MS, often known as the NATO reporting name “Bear,” is a strategic bomber and missile vehicle that has served in the Russian Air Force since the Cold War. The Tu-95MS is a long-range, turboprop-powered bomber developed by the Soviet Union that has undergone numerous modifications and enhancements over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tu-95MS is capable of carrying a wide range of payloads, including conventional and nuclear bombs.
