Malti Devi, a popular Bhojpuri YouTuber, was discovered hanging at her in-laws’ home in Uttar Pradesh’s Sant Kabir Nagar on Thursday, authorities said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deceased’s father claims that his daughter was murdered by her in-laws for failing to pay their dowry demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We received a complaint from one Deep Chand Chauhan that the body of his daughter Malti Devi was found hanging from a hook in the roof at her in-laws in a village under Mahuli police station,” said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Santosh Kumar Singh in a video statement released on X (formerly Twitter). A police squad was dispatched to the scene. The body was retrieved and taken to a morgue for examination.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An FIR has been launched under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code against Devi’s spouse Vishnu Kumar and his three relatives at the request of Devi’s father the Mahuli police station, the ASP added in the video statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
”It has come to our notice that the deceased was having some trouble with her husband. We are looking into all aspects of the case,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
