‘THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS’ PREMIERS IN LONDON<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Kareena Kapoor, who was overjoyed with the news, took to Instagram and shared a few stills from the film and revealed how she has always wanted to play a character like Jasmeet Bhamra. In a lengthy note, Kareena reflected on the journey of making the film with Hansal and Ektaa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being a huge fan of the detective series genre, I have been waiting to play the role of Jas for the past 23 years. I’ve watched everything from Karamchand to Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect to Agatha Christie in Hercule Poirot to Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown, and I’ve always wanted to play that detective woman. I began reading a 25-page summary that Hansal and Ekta gave me at one in the morning, and I instantly realized I had found the woman I wanted to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She further added, \u201cEkta, Hansal and I set off on this journey to make a slightly unconventional film, but a film that is with heart, a bit of a smile, and, oh my god, lots of tears… It played at the British Film Institute last night, and as this film starts its journey… in the world of movies… I couldn\u2019t be more nervous and excited as an actor and a first-time producer… I feel so odd writing that\u00e2\u20ac\u00e6 but I feel really cool\u00e2\u20ac\u00e6So giving you all a glimpse of this gem we made… into the world of Jas Bhamra. I do hope Jas hasn\u2019t ended her journey yet, because it\u2019s been a dream to continue this wonderful yet strong woman whose grief is beyond measure but stronger than she knows (sic),\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ektaa Kapoor also shared a few stills of Kareena from the film and expressed gratitude, \u201cThe London premiere of. #thebuckinghammurders has been overwhelming ! Congrats co producer @kareenakapoorkhan n director saab @hansalmehta ! Excited #gratitude (sic).\u201d
The Buckingham Murders marks Kareena’s debut as a producer. The film has been bankrolled by Ektaa Kapoor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
