Gorakhpur, July 1: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during his visit to Gorakhpur on Tuesday morning, turned a young girl’s dream into hope when he assured full support for her education. At the Janata Darshan held at the Digvijaynath Smriti Bhavan auditorium in Gorakhnath Temple, CM Yogi met several citizens and directed officials to take swift action on their grievances.
Among those seeking help was Pankhuri Tripathi, a Class 7 student from Purdilpur locality in the Kotwali area of Gorakhpur. The new academic session, which began on July 1, had brought despair for Pankhuri as her family was unable to afford her school fees. However, her encounter with the Chief Minister changed everything.

When CM Yogi approached her, the young girl handed over a request letter and said with folded hands, “Maharaj Ji, I want to study. Please waive my fees or help arrange it.” Moved by her words, the Chief Minister stopped and patiently listened to her story.
Pankhuri studies in an English-medium school. Her father, Rajeev Tripathi, is differently-abled, and her mother, Meenakshi, works at a shop to support the family. She also has a brother who is currently studying in Class 12. Due to financial hardship, Pankhuri had to skip her first day of school and instead came to seek the Chief Minister’s help.
Reassuring her, CM Yogi said, “Don’t worry at all. We will ensure your education continues. We’ll talk to the school to get your fees waived. If that’s not possible, we will arrange to pay the fees.” He immediately directed the attending officials to ensure that lack of fees does not hinder Pankhuri’s education.
Touched by the support, an emotional and delighted Pankhuri requested a photo with the Chief Minister — a wish that was graciously fulfilled by Yogi Adityanath.
CM Yogi Hears Grievances of 100 People at Janata Darshan
During the Janata Darshan event, CM Yogi met nearly 100 individuals and attentively heard their problems. He instructed the concerned officers to ensure timely resolution of each grievance. “Public issues must be resolved promptly. No laxity will be tolerated,” he said firmly.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the people as a top priority and instructed that the needy be provided housing and access to welfare schemes. He also directed health departments to submit medical treatment estimates to the government for financial assistance in urgent cases.
A Heartwarming Moment of Compassion
Pankhuri’s story reflects the compassionate side of governance and how a small gesture from the top leadership can transform lives. As the young girl left with hope and a smile, she said, “There is no one like Maharaj Ji.” For her, the first day of school may have been missed, but it became a life-changing moment she will cherish forever.
