New Delhi: The University of Delhi (DU) has officially launched the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for undergraduate (UG) admissions for the academic year 2025-26. The announcement was made on Monday, June 17, by DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh, who presided over the launch ceremony.

The CSAS portal will be the gateway for aspiring students to gain admission into DU’s undergraduate programs based on their performance in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2025. Candidates seeking admission must register through this portal as part of the first phase of the admission process.

Technical Issues at Launch

Although the portal was launched today, users have reported some technical issues while trying to access it. DU officials have assured that the portal will be functioning smoothly soon and that students should not worry, as ample time will be provided for registration and further procedures.

CUET Score-Based Admission

Admissions to all undergraduate programs at DU will be conducted based on CUET scores. The CUET-UG 2025 results are expected to be declared in the last week of June, following which the seat allocation process will begin through the CSAS platform.

Over 71,000 UG Seats Offered

According to the university’s statement, this year DU is offering approximately 71,000 undergraduate seats across 69 colleges and departments, covering 79 UG programs and 183 BA program combinations. Once registered on the CSAS portal, students can select their preferred courses and colleges, after which the seat allocation rounds will take place.

Tie-Breaker Policy Based on Class 10th Marks

In a new development aimed at maintaining transparency and fairness in the admission process, DU will use Class 10th board marks as a tie-breaker criterion in case two or more candidates secure the same CUET score. This initiative is expected to simplify decision-making during competitive seat allocation scenarios.

Portal Made More User-Friendly

Learning from the experiences and challenges faced in previous years, the University has introduced several improvements in the CSAS portal to make it more accessible, efficient, and user-friendly. The changes aim to reduce the possibility of student errors during the application process.

DU authorities have also urged students to carefully go through the admission guidelines and remain updated through the university’s official channels.
