In a significant event held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday, the state government marked the inauguration and groundbreaking of 114 developmental projects worth ₹588 crore. The ceremony, attended by several prominent figures, celebrated key contributions to the state’s infrastructure and economic growth.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took the stage to highlight the successful completion of the Maha Kumbh Mela, which saw over 50 crore people participating in the ritual baths. He emphasized the monumental impact the event had on Uttar Pradesh’s economy, forecasting a ₹3 lakh crore boost from the Mela’s economic activities.
In his speech, CM Yogi pointed out that Uttar Pradesh was now emerging as a new hub for development, driven by strategic infrastructure projects and events like the Maha Kumbh. He mentioned that these projects were not only enhancing the state’s religious and cultural significance but also contributing significantly to its overall growth. According to Yogi, the development in infrastructure would catalyze economic opportunities and ensure long-term prosperity for the state.
At the event, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the contributions of CM Yogi Adityanath and Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. He credited them with the rapid development taking place in the state, particularly in infrastructure, which had been a driving force behind the state’s economic and social transformation. Rajnath Singh urged the assembled leaders, workers, and dignitaries to applaud Yogi and Gadkari for their roles in making this progress possible.
Rajnath Singh took a moment to highlight the various road infrastructure projects that had been approved for Lucknow by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He recognized the pivotal role these developments played in enhancing the state’s connectivity and providing opportunities for both domestic and international businesses.
Addressing the gathering, Nitin Gadkari praised CM Yogi for establishing what he termed as ‘Ram Rajya’ in Uttar Pradesh, a reference to the establishment of good governance and law and order, which have played a crucial role in the state’s growth. Gadkari emphasized the importance of investing in infrastructure as the foundation for turning India into a global leader. According to him, strong infrastructure was vital to attracting investment and fostering economic development.
He also discussed how the quality of roads and logistics systems directly influences the flow of business and investments. Gadkari pointed out that businesses prefer states with good roads, efficient law enforcement, and reduced logistics costs. He noted that high logistics costs were a major barrier to India’s competitiveness compared to countries like the United States and China. The Union Minister expressed his commitment to reducing logistics costs to single-digit figures, which would be key to boosting investment across the country, including in Uttar Pradesh.
The event also included the launch of several major development projects aimed at improving the state’s road network, which would enhance accessibility and improve transportation efficiency. These projects are expected to play a pivotal role in further boosting economic activity, particularly in key sectors like trade, tourism, and industry.
The ceremony was attended by numerous senior political figures, including Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya, alongside BJP leaders, officials, and party workers. The event was not only a celebration of the ongoing development in Uttar Pradesh but also a symbol of the growing collaboration between the state government and the central government.
