New Delhi: Counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 began at 8 AM today. The results of this election will determine whether the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) forms the government for a fourth consecutive term or if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will take control of the national capital. Here are the latest updates from the most crucial constituencies of Delhi.

New Delhi Constituency

After eight rounds of counting, AAP chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is trailing behind BJP candidate Parvesh Verma, who has taken the lead. Kejriwal, who had previously defeated former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit in 2013, has represented this constituency for three consecutive terms. The loss of this seat would be a major setback for AAP.

Kalkaji Constituency

In the high-stakes Kalkaji seat, BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri is leading, while AAP’s Atishi, who was also projected as the Chief Ministerial candidate, is trailing by 1,635 votes after four rounds of counting. Congress has fielded former MLA Alka Lamba, making this a three-way contest.

Jangpura Constituency

Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia of AAP is currently leading against BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah in Jangpura. This seat has garnered significant attention as Sisodia, previously contesting from Patparganj, was given a ticket from Jangpura this time. In the 2020 elections, AAP’s Praveen Kumar had won this seat with a margin of over 45,000 votes.

Karawal Nagar Constituency

BJP leader Kapil Mishra is leading in Karawal Nagar, leaving AAP candidate Manoj Tyagi behind. Congress has fielded Ariba Khan in this contest.

Patparganj Constituency

BJP’s Ravindra Singh Negi is ahead in Patparganj, where AAP’s Avadh Ojha is trailing.

Ballimaran Constituency

Delhi Cabinet Minister and AAP leader Imran Hussain is leading in Ballimaran. His closest competitor is BJP’s Kamal Bagdi, while Congress has fielded former Delhi minister Haroon Yusuf. This seat remains a key battleground due to Hussain’s ministerial position.

Babarpur Constituency

AAP’s Gopal Rai, a cabinet minister in the Kejriwal government for the past ten years, is leading against BJP’s Anil Vashishta. This seat has drawn considerable attention due to Rai’s ministerial role and influence.

Greater Kailash Constituency

AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj is currently leading against BJP’s Shikha Rai.

Shakur Basti Constituency

BJP’s Karnail Singh has taken the lead over AAP’s Satyendar Jain in Shakur Basti, causing a significant shift in voting patterns.

Okhla Constituency

AAP’s Amanatullah Khan is leading in Okhla, with BJP’s Manish Chaudhary trailing.

Bijwasan Constituency

BJP’s Kailash Gahlot has maintained a steady lead in Bijwasan, securing an advantage of around 6,600 votes over AAP’s Surendra Bharadwaj.

Rohini Constituency

BJP’s Vijender Gupta is ahead in Rohini, with AAP’s Pradeep Mittal trailing behind.

Wazirpur Constituency

BJP’s Poonam Sharma is leading in Wazirpur, holding a 494-vote advantage over AAP’s Rajesh Gupta.

Final Thoughts

As counting continues, trends indicate a tough battle between AAP and BJP across multiple constituencies. While some AAP heavyweights are struggling to maintain their leads, others like Manish Sisodia and Gopal Rai have shown strong performances. The final results will be crucial in determining the political landscape of Delhi for the next five years. Stay tuned for real-time updates on the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 results.
