As the Delhi Assembly elections draw near, Arvind Kejriwal, the National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has made a significant electoral promise. The Delhi Chief Minister today declared that his government will ensure 24-hour clean water supply for every household in the capital. Kejriwal shared details about the plan, mentioning the installation of water treatment plants that will remove ammonia, as well as the construction of 2,500 new tube wells. He further announced that as of today, a locality in Rajendra Nagar has begun receiving 24-hour water supply, with plans to extend this service across the city soon.
In recent days, Kejriwal has made multiple big-ticket announcements to woo voters. These include schemes for women, senior citizens, and students. Just days ago, he launched the registration for the Mahila Samman Yojana (Women’s Honor Scheme) and the Sanjeevani Yojana (Health Plan for Seniors). Under the Women’s Honor Scheme, women will receive ₹2,100 every month, while the Sanjeevani Yojana will provide free medical treatment for senior citizens aged 60 and above, including treatment at private hospitals.

In addition to these, Kejriwal has also rolled out the Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Scheme aimed at supporting the Dalit community and ensuring their access to quality education. This follows his earlier announcements, including the five guarantees for auto-rickshaw drivers, which include life and accident insurance, educational support for their children, and financial assistance for their daughters’ weddings.
On his visit to Rajendra Nagar today, Kejriwal tested the quality of water in the area, drinking directly from a tap to show residents that the water is now clean and safe. This initiative is part of a larger effort to improve basic amenities across Delhi.

These initiatives are being framed as part of the AAP’s vision for a better Delhi, focusing on health, women’s empowerment, and socio-economic security. With these promises, Kejriwal hopes to solidify his party’s position ahead of the upcoming elections, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents of the national capital.
In his continued efforts to garner support, Kejriwal has called upon Delhi’s residents to register for the various schemes, ensuring that no one is left behind in the city’s development and welfare efforts.
