Actor Vikrant Massey recently had the unique opportunity to watch his film, The Sabarmati Report, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi and members of his cabinet. Following the screening, Massey shared his experience, revealing that the Prime Minister deeply appreciated the film and even became emotional during the viewing.
In an interview, Vikrant spoke about the interaction, saying, “We had an in-depth discussion, and I believe the details of the conversation in that chamber should remain confidential. However, I can share that PM Modi thoroughly enjoyed the film and praised the efforts we put into it. He particularly liked my performance… It was a kind of praise that will stay with me for a lifetime. I could see tears in his eyes.”
The Sabarmati Report has been receiving a great deal of attention since its release, and it has performed exceptionally well at the box office. The film, which tells the story of the tragic fire in the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express near Godhra, has earned ₹33.5 crore in India within 17 days of its release.
When asked about the film’s success, Vikrant expressed his belief that every film has its own unique journey. “If you ask me, for me, this film is like a 200-crore film. Even if it earned 250 crore, I’d consider it underwhelming. On the other hand, if a 15-crore film makes 40 crore, that’s great business,” he said, adding that everyone has their own opinion when it comes to assessing a film’s success.
Despite varying opinions, Vikrant’s performance has been widely praised by audiences and critics alike, adding to the film’s growing recognition.
