Search interest in Flipkart and Amazon has skyrocketed, with over 1 million and 500,000 searches, respectively, in the last 24 hours. According to trends.google, Flipkart experienced a 75% spike in search volume, while Amazon witnessed a 50% increase.
The increase in Flipkart is partly because to its forthcoming Big Billion Days 2024 sale, which will begin on September 29 for Plus members and September 30 for all customers. The sale, which is known for offering substantial discounts on gadgets, apparel, and household appliances, has become a tradition throughout India’s festive season. Special offers include 5% cashback for Flipkart Axis Bank credit card holders and credit lines of up to ₹1,00,000 with Flipkart Pay Later.
Amazon, too, has announced its big sale, the Great Indian Festival, which will begin on September 27. The event will include discounts on cellphones, appliances, household basics, and other items. During the month-long event, the platform’s small and medium-sized company sellers will offer over 9,500 new products, with support from the Karigar, Saheli, Local Shops, and Launchpad programs.
It is anticipated that these promotions will heighten competitiveness because they coincide with India’s pre-Diwali purchasing frenzy.
