According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), Gujarat is experiencing a vigorous monsoon. Heavy rains have fallen on multiple places, including Ahmedabad, Bharuch, and Navsari, as a result of the monsoon. Waterlogging has seriously affected people’s lives. For the next five days, there won’t be any respite from the rain. Rain has also rained in Karnataka.
On Sunday, Gujarat saw heavy rains causing waterlogging in several towns, including Ahmedabad and Surat, affecting daily life. The state’s greatest quantity of rain, 153 mm, fell in ten hours in Palsana taluka in Surat district.
According to officials, commuters had trouble traversing some highways and underpasses because of water-logging in low-lying districts of Surat, Bhuj, Vapi, Bharuch, and Ahmedabad caused by heavy rains. The Meteorological Department predicts that Gujarat will likely have rain for the next four days. Images that surfaced from Ahmedabad during the heavy downpour showed large trees uprooted. Cars and trucks that were buried under the uprooted trees suffered significant damage.
The Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that cyclonic circulation over the northeast Arabian Sea, which borders Saurashtra, is the cause of the heavy rains currently hitting in Gujarat. According to the IMD, there will be significant rainfall over the next two days in specific parts of South and Central Gujarat as well as the Saurashtra region.
