Virat Kohli made history by being the first batter to amass 3,000 runs in the T20 and ODI World Cups. On Saturday night, India and Bangladesh faced off in the Super-8 of the T20 World Cup 2024 tournament, which was jointly organized by the USA and the West Indies. Virat Kohli scored 37 runs off 28 balls in this match. In this sequence, he scored 3000 runs in the ICC World Cup (One Day, T20). So Kohli set a milestone as the first batsman in international cricket history to score 3000 runs in international Cups.
Virat Kohli played 32 T20 World Cup matches, batting in 30 of them. He scored 1,207 runs at an average of 63.52 and a strike rate of 129.78. He made 14 half-centuries in this series. Kohli’s highest score in this game was 89 runs. Similarly, Kohli played 37 ODI World Cup matches, scoring 1,795 runs at an average of 59.83. Kohli recorded five hundreds and twelve fifties in this order. His top score in the ODI World Cup was 117 runs. Kohli has scored 3,002 runs in the T20 and ODI World Cups combined.
If this is the case, India has won both Super-8 matches in the 2024 T20 World Cup. They triumphed over Afghanistan and Bangladesh teams. With this, the semi-final spot was nearly confirmed. India’s final Super-8 encounter will be against Australia on the 24th of this month at 8 p.m. (India time).
