So far in June this year, 1101 remains have been cremated at Delhi’s Nigam Bodh Ghat. In June 2022, 1570 bodies were burned; this time, the number is projected to exceed that. 1210 bodies were burned in June 2021, 1570 in June 2022, and 1319 in June 2023.

Delhi’s heatwave breaks records
