Amit Shah, the minister of the interior, examined the state of security in Jammu and Kashmir today. Joining this meeting were Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
The first round of talks, which were presided over by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is now over. The state of security in Jammu & Kashmir was investigated throughout this time. At present, there is a second set of discussions to discuss Amarnath Yatra preparations.
The following individuals took the meeting: NSA Ajit Doval, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir, Home Secretary, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, who was nominated for the position of Army Chief, IB Director Tapan Deka, Director General Anish Dayal of the CRPF, Director General Nitin Agarwal of the BSF, and other delegates from the Home Ministry and the Union Territory.
Three days following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s similar meeting on Jammu and Kashmir, Shah chaired another high-level session. Following a number of terrorist incidents, including the attack on a bus carrying pilgrims, the prime minister ordered officials to use all available anti-terrorism assets.
In four days, terrorists targeted four locations in the Jammu & Kashmir districts of Reasi, Kathua, and Doda, killing nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan while injuring several others, including seven security guards.
