Rafale fighter aircraft and air crews, along with technicians, engineers, controllers, and subject area experts, made up the Indian Air Force contingent. The Rafale fighter planes were refueled mid-air while taking part in the exercise with the assistance of an IL-78 air-to-air refueller.
An Indian Air Force squad took part in the Red Flag 2024 exercise, which took place in Alaska, USA. The Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, USA, served as the location for this drill. From June 4 to June 14, the air forces of the US, India, Singapore, Britain, the Netherlands, and Germany participated in this exercise.
This was Red Flag 2024’s second version. An advanced combat training practice is called Red Flag. There are four times a year that this activity is done. The Indian Air Force team includes subject matter experts, engineers, controllers, technicians, and Rafale fighter jets and air crew. The IL-78 air-to-air refueler assisted the Rafale fighter jet in getting refueled when it was en route to take part in the exercise. The squad members were shipped concurrently by C-17 Globemaster planes. On May 29, the Indian Air Force crew arrived at Eielson Air Base in Alaska.
In the course of the Red Flag exercise, situations akin to war were set up. The Red Force defended and the Blue Force assaulted the chosen environment, where forces were drawn up. With its F-16 and F-15 fighter planes, the US Air Force’s Aggressor Squadron made up the vast majority of the Red Force in this exercise.
