Today, the NEET exam irregularities case has been heard by the Supreme Court. Regarding the anomalies in the NEET exam, a petition has been filed to the supreme court. Students across the nation have been conducting protests for many days now, following the release of the results.
Pupils are furious that the NEET-UG 2024 medical entrance exam results were rigged. The Supreme Court is right now hearing arguments over the oddities found in the NEET entrance exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) was sent a notice by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, requesting an answer.
A group of candidates petitioned the Supreme Court, calling for a new NEET-UG 2024 exam, in the wake of asserts of a leaked NEET UG question paper. A court petition calling for the NEET UG 2024 result to be withdrawn and a new exam to be administered has been filed, citing irregularities. As you may recall, the NEET exam took place on May 5 and the results were made public on June 4. Since then, a number of complaints come to light, some of which mention paper leaks.
During the Tuesday hearing, the Supreme Court gave students another shock. Judges Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah’s vacation bench refused to halt the passed candidates’ counseling for admission to MBBS, BDS, and other programs. It also declined to call off the test at the same time.
Regarding the petitions requesting the exam, the bench sent notice to NTA. The NTA must reply as the court declared that the integrity of the examination has been undermined. The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other appropriate programs in public and private universities across the nation.
The most powerful court clubbed the case filed by Shivangi Mishra and others with the current petition and instructed the NTA to file a reply in the meanwhile. According to the plea, NEET-UG, 2024 is rife with malpractices because the petitioners have been aware of numerous instances of paper leaks.
Students nationwide have been organizing protests ever since the results were made public. The demand to cancel the results and retake the exam is included in this petition. At the same time, a demand has been made to investigate the rigging in the exam results. In addition, it was claimed that NTA had awarded grace marks at random. With concern, the petitioner stated that it has been discovered that 67 test takers at a specific site had received full marks—up to 720. The suit also stated that since the May 5 NEET exam, many claims involving possible paper leaks have surfaced.
Abdullah Mohammed Faiz and Shank Roshan Mohiddin, citizens of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, filed this appeal with the Supreme Court. Pursuant to the petition, the students’ best interests received notice by filing it, and the Supreme Court was asked to halt NEET UG 2024 counseling until the investigation into the incident concluded. Let us notify you that a request to cancel the examination has been submitted, and there are currently two petitions prior to the Supreme Court over this topic.
